S@#% My K-Boyfriend Says: "Koreaboos" and Yellow Fever

This is a post that’s been in my mind for a while. I apologize in advance, as I’m not the most articulate person in the world and often times I have trouble putting the thoughts in my head down in words, but please bear with me as I try to get my point across.

I really do agree with the “mind your own business” attitude. I try and go by it most of the time, until someone starts spouting racist bullshit (like Sidney mentioned in her earlier reblog). I think the whole “what we find sexually appealing” issue as it pertains to race has been an issue for a very long time. The problem with people preferring to date one race over another (or, more commonly, excluding one race from what they consider “attractive”) is that it has less to do with physical appearance and more with subconscious (or conscious) racism or preconceived notions.

When Koreaboos or whatever say they want “a hot kboyfriend” (someone in one of my classes said that shit to me after she saw my boyfriend :/), they’re objectifying an entire race. It’s not a physical preference based on attributes, like you mentioned, of hair color or eye color - all of which are things that can be altered. Preferring to date a certain race is racist.

That’s my two-cents, at least, from classes I’ve taken and articles I’ve read.
